Coming up Roses

rosesRoses traditionally bloom in our region from mid May until the 4th of July, with another flush or two of blossoms sometimes occuring during the remainder of the season. But if you just can’t wait, come down to the Convention Center starting Sunday. The gardeners and landscapers are beginning to plant roses by the score down here–shrub types, climbers, hybrid teas and many beautiful cultivars, too.

If you’re a rose junkie like me, you’ll also have your nose buried in many of the blossoms, always trying to catch a whiff of their ephemeral fragrance. (I don’t know about you, but rose scents often remind me of fresh, sweet raspberries.)
