From Japan to Philly

by

yukio-takagi-loYuko Takagi traveled a long distance to exhibit at the Flower Show…about 8,000 miles, actually. Head of a flower-arranging school in Kobe, Japan, Yuko met PHS president Jane Pepper at a floral event and learned about the Philadelphia Flower Show. Without any hesitation, she planned her trip here and, this morning, entered a design in the “hanging arrangement” class in Hall B. Yuko was thrilled to take a 2nd-place ribbon.

Tonight, Yuko is flying back to Kobe, though she was alarmed about the weather. “Is it always snowy like this?” she asked. We assured her that this is normal and pretty light, actually, so she shouldn’t worry much. “I need to get home right away,” Yuko added. “I have to teach a flower-arranging class…tomorrow!”
