Brazilian band booked for Flower Show stage

Minas, one of the most popular Brazilian bands in the U.S., will bring their evocative brand of bossa nova jazz, sambas and ballads to the 2010 Philadelphia International Flower Show, “Passport to the World.” The band, which features the husband and wife duo of Patricia King and Orlando Haddad, will perform on the Explorer’s Stage each day of the Show, Feb. 28 to March 7.

Haddad, a native of Minas Gerais in Brazil, and King, from Denver by way of Pennsylvania, have performed at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Mellon Jazz Festival, Academy of Music and many other local and international venues.

Performances by Minas have been arranged by World Cafe Live.
