Birds of a Feather to Soar at Flower Show

Some colorful characters from South America will make their Flower Show debut this year at “Passport to the World.” They dress in bright yellow, orange, red, blue and green plumage, and are also known for their shrieks and chirps of delight.

The Philadelphia Zoo will bring the high-flying troupe of sun conures to the Show for three presentations each day entitled “Rainbows in Flight.” The little parrots, who are native to the northeastern coast of South America, look like a living rainbow when they fly through the air.

Appearances by several other exotic parrots from the Amazon jungle are also planned near the Brazil exhibit during the 2010 Philadelphia International Show.
