Travel through Scottish Gardens with Jane Pepper

by

In keeping with the 2010 Flower Show theme, Passport to the World, PHS is offering a series of Brown-Bag Lunch programs featuring journeys to exotic lands. All programs begin at noon. Bring a brown-bag lunch; PHS will provide snacks and drinks. Fee: $5. Get a stamp for all you attend, and if you see them all, the last one is free!

Coming up on Jan. 27, Jane Pepper will present “Traveling through Scottish Gardens” at noon in the PHS Auditorium.

Jane will share pictures and stories from the tour she took with PHS members last June to visit gardens in her native land.

Their journey started south of Edinburgh in the rich, fertile country along the River Tweed, which forms the border between Scotland and England. Next they traveled to the Southwest, where the annual rainfall is twice that of the East coast, a perfect environment for large evergreens and water gardens.
