Got Bonsai?

by

BONSAI, as you may know, is the art of intentionally “dwarfing” a tree, shrub or vine into a miniature version of the full-sized specimen. You do this using a variety of techniques, from artfully pruning the plant into a tree-like form, to wiring branches into new directions and root pruning periodically to keep the plant small.

Fortunately, Flower Show visitors have two great opportunities to see bonsai at the Flower Show. You can visit the popular Hall B display from the Pennsylvania Bonsai Society, a series of niches, each containing a masterful bonsai specimen. You can also visit the nearly exhibit from Rosade Bonsai Studio, featuring more superlative plants, plus demonstrations from experts.

So come and learn about the art of bonsai. It may look daunting, but anyone can learn the basics and it may be the beginning of a wonderful new hobby…or even obsession!
