Here Comes the Voodoo Lily!

by

This giant plant is a voodoo lily (Amorphophallus species), a large member of the Arum family. This entry is from noted Philadelphia plantsman Stephen Maciejewski and is clearly dazzling (and perplexing!) visitors in the horticulture section of Hall B. It is native to warm, subtropical regions in eastern Asia, but it’s about to bloom here in chilly Philly at the Flower Show. Go figure!
