PHS Talks Trees at GreenFest Philly

Philadelphia Green project coordinator Alice Edgerton and urban forestry coordinator Liz Haegle share PHS information with visitors to GreenFest Philly on Sept. 12.

A day after PHS launched its new Fall Garden Festival at the Philadelphia Navy Yard (huge success!), the organization participated in another celebration — GreenFest Philly, a one-day street fair devoted to sustainable living on Sunday, Sept. 12. Green businesses, non-profits and other groups offered information, products and services at the festival along Second Street, between South and Pine Streets.

PHS provided information about joining Tree Tenders, the benefits of trees,  and participating in the TreeVitalize One Million campaign, which has a goal of planting a million trees in the Philadelphia region. Visitors also stopped by to find out how to join PHS and to hear about the latest plans for the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show, “Springtime in Paris.”
