PHS will hold a series of workshops in preparation for the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show, “Springtime in Paris,” March 6-13.
Workshops are free and open to Flower Show exhibitors as well as arrangers who want to learn about entering the Show. No reservations are required. Bring a friend!
Workshops will be held in Penllyn, Pa., at the Lower Gwynedd Township Park Building in Penllyn Woods. Programs start promptly at 10 a.m. Coffee will be available beginning at 9:45 a.m. Programs will end by noon.
Exhibitors are encouraged to remain after the programs to try ideas and consult with their advisors. Samples of
the staging will be available. Backgrounds can be fitted in the niches, and a variety of colored lighting can be

These talented ladies work together not only professionally as landscape designers but as
award-winning floral designers in classes from minis to jewelry. Leslie and Alice are involved
in design work both nationally and internationally. Their presentation of what’s on the “cutting
edge” in French Floral Design will be a not-to-be-missed inspiration for this year’s Show.

Using Your Space Wisely
Anne Coste and Allison Coste Romig
A “how-to” discussion and demonstration on designing for a space without walls. Anne is a
long-time exhibitor and winner in the Philadelphia Flower Show as well as a Garden Club of
America accredited flower show judge. Allison is following in her mother’s footsteps and is an
award winning designer as well.

Transparency and Duo Designs
Creative designs are an American art form. Join us in learning the construction methods of
these two types of designs. Deidre, a member of the World Association of Flower Arrangers,
has won gold medals for her designs and is a top award winner at the Flower Show.

Tips for the First Time & Experienced Exhibitor
Sidney Spahr, Patti Kelly, & Sandy Hullett
A potpourri of information: Sidney will share the tips and tricks she’s learned as an
experienced exhibitor; Patti, a newer exhibitor, will give us her perspective on fact and fiction
when entering the Show for the first time; and Sandy, chair of artistic passing, will tell us how
to make sure our entries will pass. This workshop is a “must” for first-time exhibitors!
