Whet your appetite for Springtime in Paris by attending an evening lecture at the PHS McLean Library. On Tuesday, February 8, join Constance T. Haydock as she discusses the je ne sais quoi of Parisian gardens.
The gardens of Paris originally mimicked styles found in Italy and England, but in time forged an identity that is uniquely Parisian. Today there are more than 400 private and public gardens in Paris. This presentation will include the best-known parks such as Luxembourg, Tuileries, and Bagatelle; smaller gardens such as Monceau, Rodin, and Carnavalet; and a few surprises. The lecture will begin at 6 pm and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception in the McLean Library.
