Enhance Your Show Experience: Time Away for Tea

Looking for a relaxing retreat from the Flower Show floor? Settle in for an afternoon tea and a light lunch amidst a backdrop of magnificent flowers and soothing music. This year’s menu will include savory tea sandwiches, cherry jubilee cakes and other sweet treats.

This is the perfect lunch date for a group of girlfriends, a mother-daughter duo, or even belated Valentine’s Day sweethearts!

There will be early and late afternoon seatings each day of the Flower Show (March 6 – 13): 12:30 – 2 pm & 3:45 – 5:15 pm. Tickets are $28 per person (does not include Show admission). Seating will be pre-assigned with four to five people at each table.

Plan Your Visit: Purchasing Tickets

Buying tickets to the Flower Show is simple as can be, but ask yourself these questions before you make your purchase.

Do you want to attend a special event?
Between the Preview Party (Saturday, March 5), Early Morning Tours, and Garden Teas, there are many ways to “plus” your Flower Show that require a special ticket.

Are you staying at a hotel?
If so, check to see if they offer a discount package. This list can help you in your planning.

Do you prefer purchasing your ticket in person?
The Flower Show partners with many ticket outlets, including PNC Bank branches, ACME Markets, Giant Food Stores, and Boscov’s. Click here for a list.

Are you a student? A child? Part of a group?
Reduced-price tickets are available for our younger fans. There are also discounts for large groups, families, and parties of four.

Elegance and Earl Grey at Garden Tea

If you act quickly, you may still reserve a seat in the Garden Tea Room. There you step into serene and elegant surroundings with soothing music and elegant flowers. The menus include a light and delicious selection of petit sandwiches, pastries, fruit and an assortment of fine teas. This tranquil time will enhance your Flower Show experience and is perfect for young ladies, a girls’ night out, and families.

Cherries Jubilee and Garden Tea

This Just In:

We just heard about the special menu being planned for the Flower Show’s Garden Tea including cherries jubilee cake, scone with lemon curd and clotted cream, tasty tea sandwiches, and PB and J available for the little ones.

If you haven’t heard, you are your friends can enjoy a  peaceful respite at the Show in our Garden Tea Room, filled with elegant surroundings and soothing music. Students from Philadelphia’s own JNA Institute of Culinary Arts will prepare and plate the food.

Guests can enter to win gift cards for merchandise from women’s clothing retailer Christopher & Banks. They can also sample a selection of robust and flavorful international teas furnished by Harney & Sons Fine Teas.

Reservations are $28 per person (not including Flower Show ticket). Tea tickets are non-refundable.

There will be two seatings daily in Room 202.  (12:30 – 2:00 pm and 3:45 – 5:15 pm)

Same day Flower Show admission is required to attend a Garden Tea.

‘Rome’-ing around

So, I decided to take 15 minutes and give you a view of what was happening at the Flower Show. Above, you can see some visitors looking at plants around the Central Feature. And, if you notice, there are no crowds!

Next I moved off of the main Show floor to get an idea of what was happening on the Bridge (all included in the price of admission. (more…)

Those looking to add a touch of sophistication to their Flower Show experience should indulge in the Garden Tea, conveniently located in the Convention Center. The Tea includes petit sandwiches, pastries, fresh fruit, and, of course, a fine assortment of soothing teas. Two seatings are offered daily in Room 202, at 12:30 pm and 3:45 pm. A word of warning: the Garden Tea is a Flower Show staple for many people, so act fast and purchase your tickets well in advance. (Please note that the Tea, at $28 per person, does not include admission to the Flower Show.)
