Exciting attractions for students at this year’s Flower Show.

The Philadelphia Zoo will be sending colorful representatives to do demos at the Flower Show.

The Philadelphia International Flower Show (February 28-March 7) is a great study break for area college students.

In keeping with the “Passport to the World” theme there will be daily musical performances by the vibrant Brazilian troupe, Minas, who recently performed at World Café Live in University City.

There will also be classical and contemporary Indian dance led by Rujuta Vaidya, choreographer for the spectacular Slumdog Millionaire dance sequence presented at the 2009 Academy Awards. (more…)

Shopping and Indulging at the Flower Show

Do you enjoy shopping as much as we do? Well, just a few steps outside the exhibition halls of the 2010 Philadelphia International Flower Show, a world of unique shops and other sweet treats will await. 

A new World Bazaar, located on the Show Bridge, will offer home accessories, art, crafts, pottery, jewelry, shoes, foods and other products from around the globe. 

The shop called Indiago will have a fabulous selection of Indian tapestries, curtains, pillows, lampshades and other ways to beautify the home. 

Model Metalworks, Inc. will sell handmade pine needle baskets, trays and vases from Mexico. 

 Hand-carved natural jade jewelry from Burma will be offered by J’s Jades

Chinese porcelain, cloisonné ware, jade carvings, furnishings, clothing, musical instruments, stone carvings, glass art and pictures will be sold by the China Art Company

Nica-Art

Handcrafted Nicaraguan pottery will be presented by Nica-Art

Aquafina Gardens International will offer a selection of garden décor from around the world. 

Imported Italian shoes and lines will be available at Nobel Nielsen Shoes

And Gourmet Blends will offer imported Italian vinegars and oils. 

French Chocolate Raspberry Cake

Visitors can then take a break from shopping on the other side of the Show Bridge, where Sweet Street Desserts, of Reading, Pa., will be serving at the new Dessert and Coffee Bar. Sweet Street makes gourmet pies and cakes and other wonderful treats.
