Minas at the Flower Show Press Conference

February 3, 2010

At World Cafe Live in University City, the first press event for the 2010 Philadelphia International Flower Show had hips swaying with a warm blend of Samba and Bossa Nova music.  A perfect way to usher in the Spring and introduce the “Passport to the World” theme.

Minas, a popular Brazilian duo dressed smartly in turquoise and peach, lightened the air with guitar and piano solos that have made them a local and national favorite.  Patricia King and Orlando Haddad are a husband and wife band who’ve performed at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and various Jazz festivals throughout the country.   They will be performing several sets each day on the “Explorer’s Stage” at this year’s Flower Show from February 28 to March 7.   So be sure to stop by, and soon they’ll have you singing, “So Danço Samba!”
